Gritting around Stambourne – December 2022

Winter 2022 // Gritting around Stambourne in winter 2022/2023:

Finchingfield Road is currently closed from 14th to 20th December 2022 for UK Power works. This is the usual gritting route for ECC Highways. The diversion is through Chapel End Way, which is not normally gritted.

The Stambourne Parish Council have contacted Essex County Council Highways and are pleased to report that ECC Highways have agreed to grit the diversion route whilst the road is closed. This is only a temporary measure whilst the road closure is in place.

With the recent cold weather and early morning ice, the roads may become dangerously slippery. Essex Highways are responsible for gritting the roads around Stambourne in winter but, as they have to prioritise their routes, not all of Stambourne’s roads are covered.
