Sonic boom heard in Stambourne

A loud 'explosion' was heard around 1pm this afternoon, 12 January 2021 which may have bemused residents. Rather than thunder or an explosion, it was an RAF Typhoon scrambled from RAF Coningsby called to investigate a plane which was no longer responding to Air Traffic Control. Over the last few weeks mystery stones have appeared on footpaths and roadsides around the village. These are adding fun and interest to the daily exercise outings of “children” of all ages!! The “idea” is to find them, take pictures if you like to “collect” them and then relocate them for others to find again.
